Wells Fargo Bank CD Rates

Date March 27, 2009

Wells Fargo Bank is one of the largest banks in the United States, so we here at Top-CD Rates knew we had to look into the Wells Fargo Bank CD rates available right now. After seeing what they have to offer, you’ll probably agree that unless you need a local bank branch or are already banking with Wells Fargo, there are much better certificate of deposit rates available elsewhere.

Four special offer Wells Fargo Bank CD rates are being given right now. All of them have a $5,000 minimum deposit and are auto-renewing, the new term at the standard Wells Fargo CD rates at the time of renewal.

These special offers start at 7 months (renewing for another 6) at 1.27% annual percentage yield (APY). A 13 month (renewing for 12 more) yields 1.72% APY and a 25 month at 2.22% APY (renewing for 24 months) is next. Finally, a 39 month (renewing for 36 more) at 3.02% APY finishes of the special CD rates at Wells Fargo Bank.

Right now, standard rates are available in 3 month, 6 month, or 1 year terms. These certificate of deposit rates begin at 0.10% APY for a $2,500 minimum deposit. The one year CD rates at Wells Fargo Bank pay of at 0.90% APY for $100,000 or 0.40% APY for $2,500 deposit.

As you can see, the Wells Fargo CD rates available right now are not very competitive with some others we’ve recently reviewed from other banks. If you’re looking for a CD and have a relationship with Wells Fargo already, then check your local branch or online to see if Wells Fargo CD rates are for you. Wells Fargo accounts are, of course, FDIC insured. Rates can change quickly and certificate of deposit rates are sometimes different by location as well.
